Hi, everyone!

After spending a little time hanging out with my family and friends in Iowa, I’m back in North Carolina with Hattori Racing Enterprises, and I can hardly wait for the racing season to start!!   This was my last chance to catch a break and spend some personal time, before the racing calendar completely fills up for the summer.

For the benefit of anyone who doesn’t live where the snow flies and the North wind blows, this is what we saw when the plane landed in Iowa.  Since I spend most of my time in NC now where it is a lot warmer, this wintry tarmac scene looked awfully cold.  The upside of a blizzard is that you can do a lot more with snowmobiles and winter sports in Iowa than you can in NC, so I guess it all evens out.

To bring you up to date, the first K&N Pro Series East points race will be on Saturday, March 16th.  We will take to the track for practice and qualifying on Thursday the 14th, so it is getting really close now, and the whole HRE team is counting down the days.  Our first race will be at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN.  Bristol is a half mile, high banked concrete oval.  It’s a really fast track with plenty of action, and it is the perfect place to start the season.  The race is scheduled as a straight-through event of 125 laps (just under 70 miles) with no break for the crew to make adjustments at the half-way point this time.

Our first race in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series doesn’t come along until May 17th at Charlotte, but we are just as excited about starting the Truck Series, even though the race date is further away.

And I am still testing the Sprint Cup Gen-6 cars for Michael Waltrip Racing.  There is a lot we just don’t know yet about the capabilities of the new Cup car, so we still have a lot of work to do, and it keeps all of us busy.

Fans and friends, thank you so much for your support!  I really appreciate it.  You can check the NASCAR Home Tracks website for recaps of practice times, qualifying order, and of course, for the race itself at 4:45 p.m. ET on Saturday March 16th, and be sure to follow me on twitter at @BrettMoffitt11 for updates during the races.

Until next time,
Brett
