Grimes, Iowa (May 20, 2010)

Grimes' teenage NASCAR driver, Brett Moffitt, can hardly wait until this weekend gets here. Moffitt will return to his home track, the Iowa Speedway, and will be back in the seat of the Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) #02 Toyota, after the longest break of the season for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. Moffitt and his JGR team will be on the track in Newton on Saturday afternoon, May 22nd, for practice. They will be back on the track on Sunday for additional practice, qualifying, and to compete in the Goodyear Dealers of Iowa 200 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East/West Challenge.

Kum & Go is a proud sponsor of the young Iowa native for this week's NASCAR K & N Pro Series East/West Challenge. To promote the event and to celebrate a Grand Re-Opening, Moffitt will join forces with Iowa-based Kum & Go and will drive the JGR/Kum & Go #20 Toyota this weekend.

Stop by store #92 in Ankeny (at the corner of Oralabor & 1st Street) on Friday morning from 7-9 am to meet Brett Moffitt and get his autograph, as well as to support the Grand Re-Opening of this store location. Grand Re-Opening festivities for customers will also include free 32-oz. fountain drinks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, plus the opportunity to register to win free gas for a year!

Although Moffitt just turned seventeen last August, he is already well on his way to a career in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Since the last race with his JGR team on April 8th, he has kept busy racing in Central Iowa in his IMCA SportMod. During the time off between NASCAR events, Moffitt has racked up six feature event wins in the last four weeks, while keeping his racing skills honed.

In 2009, while driving for Andy Santerre Motorsports in what was formerly the "NASCAR Camping World Series East" and is now the NASCAR K & N Pro Series East, Brett earned two wins, top ten finishes in 85% of the events, and was third in the season-ending points standings. Brett won the pole for the first race in April, 2009, making him the youngest driver ever to win a pole in the series, and he became the youngest driver ever to win a race in the series with a win at South Boston Speedway. He was also the youngest driver ever to lead the series in points.
