A Minute with Brett Moffitt - Jan. 15
Early in the week, I got to do a lot of “pit practice”, which is basically practice at pitting a car for the crew to work on their pit stops. Even though I didn’t get to go fast, it was nice to shake down being in a car again, although I went only ten miles per hour.
Probably the best off-track thing to ever happen to me occurred later in the week. Travis Pastrana, who is making his NASCAR début this year, was testing in Georgia, and the crew arranged for me to ride down with Travis and try to help him. It was beyond my belief to get to ride in a car for hours with just Travis and be able to hang out with him. I remember always watching Travis when I was younger, and especially love watching Nitro Circus, so it was awesome to be able to hang out with a guy that I admire and look up to. It is ironic that my dad actually used to race motocross, so our family has deep ties to dirt bikes. Travis was awesome. He is even cooler in person than on TV.Now I’m back in Iowa, and I love Iowa, but I surely do miss NC. I’m trying to convince my parents to let me live there this summer, but I still have some work left to do with that. The more time I spend there, the more friends I meet, and the more fun I have. Some of the best experiences of my life have been there, and it would be great to spend some long-term time there. Well, that’s it for now.
Take care,Brett
