Can you believe that the racing season is almost here?  I just finished packing some furniture, and the plan is to head out of Iowa tomorrow with my father to bring my car and some things to North Carolina.  All of the recent trips back and forth have made me realize that it is much more practical to have my car in North Carolina to travel back and forth than trying to rely on either my friends or my crew chief, even though I have been staying with him.  It’s about an 18 hour drive from Iowa to NC, and I’ve made it before, so it shouldn’t be that bad.  We just hope Mother Nature cooperates.

The preparation with MWR has been wonderful.  I couldn’t ask for anything more.  They are really taking the time to show me things in the shop, and it’s helping me learn a lot more about the cars and the engineering behind them.  I want to learn as much as possible here, because I think it will help me to relate more precise feedback to my crew chief and to communicate better overall.  Hopefully, we will start testing some K&N Pro Series East cars soon, because Greenville will be here before we know it.

How about Travis’s run at the Toyota All-Star Showdown?  I think he proved his abilities to everyone.  Even though it was only one race and he still has a lot to learn, I think he will impress people each time he’s on the track.  He even took time out to joke with my father at the Showdown, and I was one of the first people he called afterward to tell me about his run.  He is a real class act, and I can’t wait to have the opportunity to spend more time with him.

Well that’s pretty much it for now.  We will be leaving tomorrow,  for our road trip.  I will do my best to keep everyone updated while I am out there or when I get back.  Thanks for your support!
