A Minute with Brett Moffitt - March 15
Hi, everyone! Things have been progressing very well for me in NC. I am all settled after the move and am enjoying living on my own. I have set a nice routine by working in the mornings at the Michael Waltrip Racing shop and then working with the team’s trainer in the afternoon to help increase my endurance. I have really been getting to know and bond with a lot of the MWR crewmembers, and I feel like we have great chemistry heading into the start of the season.
It has also been nice to have a chance to make new friends down here. I actually spent some time last week at Trevor Bayne’s house, so that was really cool. I was sick last week with some kind of sore throat. The doctors never found out for certain what was wrong, but they thought it was something along the lines of strep throat. It seems to be getting better now, so I guess no worries.
Last week, I tested a Cup car for Toyota for the first time at Little Rockingham. I couldn’t believe the power! I could literally spin the tires at almost any speed. At the start of the test, I went off the track because the brakes went to the floor heading into the turn, but we were able to fix it and come back to run some good laps. I can’t wait to hopefully have a shot to test again in the near future.
As for future, the first NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race is scheduled for March 26 at Greenville Pickens Speedway in South Carolina. It seems like I have been itching to get on track in the No. 00 Toyota forever. I have just seen the decal design for the car, as well as the new uniform, and I cannot wait to take the car to the track! I am really looking forward to it.
