Hi, everyone! Things have been pretty hectic here, so sorry it has been a while since I have written. As you probably know, we won the first NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race of the season. We sat on the pole and led every lap.  That was awesome!  I felt a lot of pressure heading into the season, especially because of what Ryan Truex had accomplished in the car so to perform up to those standards was such an accomplishment!  I know it was only one race, but I think we can carry the momentum as we head into one of my best tracks, South Boston.

I was able to test at South Boston last week with Zach Germain, and the test went great.  The car was perfect and the lap times were fast, so I am confident that we have a good chance to repeat our performance.  Our biggest competition may be Mother Nature, as it appears the weather may give us some difficulty heading into the weekend. For everyone’s sake, I hope we can have some luck and be able to run the race on schedule.

Winning the race the way we did brought lots of extra benefits.  I was able to be a guest on SPEED TV’s NASCAR Race Hub.  For me, that was a big deal.  I love watching that show, and to be on it and meet everyone there was an amazing experience.  I was also able to call into numerous radio stations.  Hopefully, the excitement and buzz will continue, and we can pick up sponsorship and some additional funding for the rest of the season.

One of the funniest perks of sitting on the pole and winning the race was winning a bet I made with the team.  The bet was that if I sat on the pole and won the race, I got to dunk a crewmember’s head in the toilet.  On the other hand, if I were involved in the first caution, they got to do it to me instead.  Thankfully, I did not lose that bet, and we had a pretty entertaining day at work this week.  AJ, who works in the parts department, had a great attitude about it.  If you go onto my Facebook or Twitter, you can see some photos.

I also got to practice pit stops with Travis Pastrana this week at the shop.  After we practiced pitting the car, each of us had some fun actually changing the tires.  Let me put it this way - I don’t think I would ever make it in a career as a tire changer.

On the off weekend after Greenville, my girlfriend and I went to Ashville to tour the Biltmore House.  The weather was great, and it was nice to get out and enjoy the weekend off.  It wasn’t something I would normally do, but thought she would love it, and it turned out that both of us had a pretty good day.

Well that’s it for now.  Until next time, take care -

Brett
